Have you tried keeping them engaged by singing songs that require them to follow directions, recite action rhymes (5 Little Speckled frogs, 5 Little Ducks, Itsy Bitsy Spider...), have them touch body parts as each is announced.... Keeping them engaged and moving should help. We have many videos in our database which will definitely give you more ideas and strategies. Please check back to let me know if the above information was helpful and would love to hear what worked. Thanks for your question and look forward in hearing from you soon.
Thanks so much for the suggestions. Its so obvious that I didn't even think of songs that require following directions. I will try that idea.
Where are the videos? On the TGrow website database? Please let me know where to search.
Click on General tab, scroll down to S.E, type in key words of what you would like to search in the database. Please feel free to reach out anytime and would love to hear your feedback.
Get a collection of scented chap sticks. As each child lines up swipe a small amount of chap stick on their hand and have them smell it as they transition. When you arrive at your destination, have them hues what scent it was.
